L’oralité au service du personnage de « sale gosse » dans des romans noirs contemporains

Máté Kovács

This article aims to examine the role of orality in constructing the rebel figure in contemporary French noir novels, with a focus on L’été des charognes by Simon Johannin and P’tit monstre by Zarca, both published in 2017. Following a brief introduction to the noir novels and the oral style characteristic of these two works, this study will analyse the features of orality present in the novels at the phonetic, syntactic, and lexical levels. Finally, it will outline the initial findings of a questionnaire-based survey that investigates how native speakers of French perceive the language of these novels.
