This article is part of a broader series of works on popular and slang varieties of 19th-century French, as recorded in dictionaries of the time and in literary works written during that literature-rich period, whether the texts come from highly celebrated, well-known authors or from lesser-known ones. The aim is to achieve a better understanding of the use of terms and expressions dating from the 19th century, as well as their morphology, etymology, and dating, among other aspects.
