L’Astragale d’Albertine Sarrazin : des pratiques langagières et motifs d’un roman noir autobiographique ?

Anne Gensane

This article analyzes L’Astragale (1965) by Albertine Sarrazin as an autobiographical noir novel, where a young woman’s escape from prison explores marginality and the quest for freedom. The article emphasizes the nocturnal atmosphere and the codes of noir, positioning the novel between lived reality and fiction, and turning it into a testimony on identity, subversion, and language (it notably highlights the use of slang).
