Notoriété sur YouTube et production musicale de Squeezie : comment les variétés de langue non standard construisent l’identité

The way we listen to music is changing in line with technological progress. Its emblematic scene, YouTube not only offers an infinite palette of music but also allows a new approach to it. The present paper focuses on the musical production of the most recognized French youtuber: Squeezie. The study comprises an extension of my work questioning the interaction, the self-presentation and the identity construction of the youtuber in his discourse. The analysis is articulated around the notion of ethos. Notoriety can lead the youtuber to musical success by building a prior ethos. In this perspective, the analysis aims at revealing Squeezie's identity construction through the varieties of non-standard language in his songs by studying its relation with his discursive identity. My objective is to approach the non-standard varieties according to their functions. To do so, I mainly examine YouTube and video game jargon through a quantitative and qualitative analysis. In short, the present work aims at opening up an avenue of analysis concerning a new type of song production and its producer.
