Analyse sociolinguistique du louchébeum. Une étude de cas dans la région de Pertuis

Stéphane Hardy

Louchébeum, a diatopic variety of the Parisian largonji du louchébem used around Pertuis, has so far remained completely unexplored in Slang/Argot studies. This argotic language therefore deserves special attention. As part of an initial small-scale study, it has been possible to provide some particularly innovative research results, which allow promising research hypotheses to be formulated. The aim of the present work is to set out the main results of a sociolinguistic analysis of louchébeum. The informants who took part in our empirical study are presented, as well as the methodological choices that our qualitative work adopts to conduct basic research with speakers of louchébeum. In this context, the article develops several sociolinguistic issues: the internal names used for the argotic variety, its geographical spread in the Pertuis region, its context of acquisition, its functions, its speakers, its emergence in the south of the Vaucluse and its current vitality.
